"Javea is sublime, immense, the best place I know to paint... I'll be there for a few days. If you were here, I'd stay for two months." These were the words written to his wife by "the painter of light," the most iconic Valencian painter.
It wasn't just a painting.
It was a way of feeling the Mediterranean.
Years later, that same essence inspired the creation of Levantino's Marenostrum model.
THE BEZEL AND CASE
OCTAGONAL GEOMETRY
Balance between strength and subtlety.
Marenostrum's bezel is constructed from a precise form:
- The firm, horizontal and vertical main lines provide stability and presence.
- The more restrained transitions in the corners soften the overall look and adapt it to the organic rhythm of the watch.
The brushed 316L steel finish reinforces this duality: structure and calm.
It captures light in a controlled way, without aggressive reflections, projecting a sense of silent solidity.
A bezel that does not compete with the dial, but rather frames it. It does not distract, it organizes.
The sphere
THE SWELL LINES ON THE SUBMERGED SAND
Its surface is crafted with horizontal lines in high and low relief that do not respond to a trend, but to a memory.
The pattern the sea leaves on the sand as it gently recedes.
Imperfect, repeated, serene waves.
A natural pattern that only appears when everything is calm.
This texture adds depth without resorting to excess.
It creates plays of light, nuances, subtle shadows that make the dial never exactly the same.
MARKERS AND WINDOW
LUMINISCENCE AND CLARITY
The markers, white with a black outline, are designed with functionality and clarity in mind.
Each index is sharply perceived, without interference, creating a clean contrast against the turquoise background.
They do not seek prominence.
They seek precision.
The hands follow the same principle: immediate readability, visual balance, consistency with the overall design.
The Super-LumiNova treatment allows both markers and hands to maintain their visibility when the light disappears, extending the watch's usefulness beyond daytime, like that last reflection that lingers on the sea after sunset.
The date window, integrated without magnification, respects the continuity of the dial, present without breaking the rhythm.
THE BRACELET
FLOW, BALANCE, AND LIGHT
The Marenostrum bracelet naturally extends the language of the watch. It starts wide next to the case and progressively narrows to 17 mm at the clasp, a taper that lightens its presence on the wrist, improves comfort, and provides a more refined silhouette.
- The wide, brushed outer links convey solidity and absorb light with sobriety.
- Between them, finer links with a polished finish introduce contrast and subtle reflections, adding rhythm, depth, and dynamism to the design.
